ABCKids.com.au - ABC Kids is the name given to
the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's
children's programming. ABCKids.net.au does not point to a website.
ABCKids via ABC Television broadcasts the greatest amount of children's
programming than any other network in Australia. Children's
programming on ABC1 are broadcast under the ABCKid brand in two
blocks, mornings, 6:00am to 10:00am, and afternoons, 3:00pm to 6:00pm. In
addition to this, ABC2 broadcasts ABC Kids from 10:00am to 4:30pm.

ABCKids.com.au consists of a mixture
of both in-house and out-sourced children's television programs.
Due to their longevity, programmes such as
Play School and Bananas in Pyjamas are iconic within Australia. Popular
locally-made drama series include The Saddle Club, Out There, Blue Water
High, Ship to Shore and Round the Twist.
International programmes which
regularly feature in the line-up include Sesame Street, Bob the Builder,
Pingu, Arthur, Fireman Sam and older-years shows Degrassi, Lizzie
McGuire, Freaky Stories and Daria. |
ABCKid commenced as a replacement in 2000 for the previously aired ABC
for Kids branding used on ABC Television and ABC Online. On 7 March 2005,
ABC2 launched allowing for ABC Kids' programming to be broadcast for 13
hours a day across ABC1 and ABC2. Currently, ABC Kids offers a wide range of
children's programing aimed at 4–6 year olds, and a smaller time in the day
for 7–15 year olds.

related sub-brand, Rollercoaster, covers programs aimed at 8–15 year olds
and a related website and magazine.
